COMMISSION DETAILS AND AGREEMENTS

  • Each custom merch design is $1250 – $625 will be paid upfront by the client as a retainer for the designer’s time and effort. The remaining $625 will be paid by the client, before the designer sends the final files over to the client. Every design takes 14 drawing hours minimum, and most take much longer depending on the detail. By charging a flat rate, and not an hourly rate, the client gets a better deal per hour the designer spends drawing. Both parties avoid the hassle of documenting hours.
  • The initial $625 is a non-refundable deposit – This is to ensure that the designer’s time spent conceptualizing and drawing does not go to waste if the client decides to cancel before the design can be finished. If the project is for some reason canceled by the client, or if the client is unreponsive for during their allotted commission week, the retainer and the design, in whatever state it is in, will belong solely to the designer, and the client forfeits their right to the design and the retainer, in any way. It is the responsibility of the client to be responsive on the commission date to begin the process, or the design and retainer is forfeited by the client, and belongs to the designer.
  • Each commission takes roughly 1-2 weeks to complete from the booked date – How quickly a design is completed is typically based on the initial detailed description of the design provided by the client, and how quickly the two parties can communicate. The more information and reference images the client provides, the less time the designer will need to spend on additions and changes. The client MUST be able to communicate during selected time slot. If the client is unable to communicate during selected time slot, the design will be pushed back by the designer to an available time slot. These time slots may be weeks or month later than the selected date.
  • Files provided – Once the design is agreed upon by both parties and the remainder $625 is paid by the client, the designer will send over the files for the agreed upon graphic. The file types provided will be .AI, JPEG, PNG, and PSD. Since the designer works through procreate, the vector .AI file may not hold all the same detail as the original design. However, the .PSD and .PNG file types will be in 300 dpi, and usable for printing and/or creative needs.
  • The files are the client’s responsibility – Once the final payment is received by the designer and the files are received by the client, the design is owned by the client and the commission is complete. The client may use the design for any merchandise use, but may not use the design as branding for their company. The client is responsible for keeping the design files safe. Once the commission is completed, the designer is not responsible for the client’s design files, in any way.
  • Though it is very unlikely, the designer maintains the right to deny or terminate a commission – The designer can deny a commission request for any reason before the project begins. If the retainer has been paid, the designer can terminate the commission at anytime throughout the designing process. However, if the designer does terminate the commission, the client will be refunded their retainer of $625, and the design (in whatever state it is in) will still belong to the designer.

By submitting a commission request and paying the initial remainder, the client agrees to the terms and conditions stated above
